Sunday 22 August: Nova Scotia visit
Visited Two Islands on the Bay of Fundy, drove around looking for lobster (season was over, sob) and ended up eating dried seaweed instead (surprisingly good!).
The entire area is stunningly beautiful with a tight-knit community where people still look out for one another. Made me wish I could stay much longer!
I was taught to cook a chicken by shoving a tin of beer up it's arse.
I learned a lot of useful stuff in Nova Scotia!

Saturday 21 August: Nova Scotia Visit
With Liz driving, and John and Barbara following, we visited the Joggins Fossil Cliffs, then drove along the Bay of Fundy, overnighting at Liz's friends' holiday cottage.
This area was a bit like moving back in time for me, with lots of wide vista's, space, peace and quiet, and stunning natural beauty in every direction.
Starting the day at the cottage, enjoying the beautiful surrounding area:
On to Joggins Fossil beach:
Cap d'Or:
Driving along the coast:
A friend's cottage on the Bay of Fundy:
That evening, or the next (I'm not sure now) we went to a local do: the annual Cumberland County Gem Cutter's Ball where we were treated to truly fabulous jazz/big band music by the Big Elastic Band (thanks John for remembering the names).
The previous was recorded with my phone camera, which explains the poor quality. The following was recorded by John, it gives a much better idea of the music and general feel of the evening:
